The Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy is headquartered in Visakhapatnam and is commanded by the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief. The HQ of the ENC is based out of INS Circars in Vizag and is responsible for the overall administration and monitoring of the various establishments, ships, other units that come under the command. The HQENC comprises of three divisions: Logistics, Admin & Personnel (L, A & P), Operations and Technical.

The Executive Information System (EIS) for the L, A & P division has been envisaged by the HQENC to meet this requirement for easier information access and retrieval for senior officers, and officers-in-charge of the various departments, and to act as an effective analytic aid for their planning, monitoring and decision making needs.

The purpose of the Executive Information System for the L, A & P division in the HQENC is to facilitate

Easy retrieval & a more complete analysis of important decision support & administrative monitoring data (reports, trend analysis etc)
Enable proactive management of the affairs (monetary or otherwise) of the ENC
Event based alerting
And thereby, to enhance the strategic decision-making capabilities of the senior officers, & tactical decision-making capabilities of the officer-in-charge/head of various departments & staff officers of various sections.

This EIS Project consists of 22 different modules such as Application Administration, Audit Module, Budget Module, Canteen Module, Clothing and victualling Module, Command Recruitment Module, Contracts Module, Document Tracking, Education, Financial Accounting Concurrence (FA) Module, Legal, Medical, Naval Provost Marshall, Non-Public Fund (NPF) Module, Personnel and Administration, Policy, Quartering, Sports, Stores Module, Training, Transport Module and Works.
