Social Welfare System for Government of Andhra Pradesh

The Social Welfare Department implements various schemes for the socio -economic development, education development, welfare and protection of weaker sections. There are budget allocations for different schemes under 3 sectors, which are Plan, Non plan, and Center sponsored schemes. Some of the schemes are monitored directly by the office of the commissioner and some of the schemes are executed and monitored by the deputy directors districts. Lack of proper information system across the department is making the decision support system a difficult task. The need for an integrated, centralized information system was felt which could help in overcoming the present bottleneck.

The software envisages the following:

The beneficiary details scheme wise, area wise, and district wise
The budget release and utilization of funds district-wise, account-wise
The software is developed in n-tier architecture with budget as one major module to which all the other modules are integrated

Software is being developed and is to be implemented using centralized, web based model in three tier architecture. The application is developed on Microsoft platform using ASP, COM+, and Oracle8i/9i.
