There are different service units like workshops, zonal stores, staff colleges at the zonal level. Through these depots, more than 20,000 buses are maintained to operate various services daily.

Objectives
Observe and monitor key performance indicators of state run road transport corporation
Empower power users like operating managers and senior management of the organization to take timely and quality decisions
Features

The software generates the following outputs based on the daily inputs that flow from lowest operational unit called depot. The inputs are gathered from all 211 depots in the state.

Daily Operational Results

Service type-wise analysis showing earnings/kilometers, earnings/bus, vehicle utilization and occupancy ratio. Depot /regional/zonal summaries appear as applicable. These figures are shown for the previous day, same day last year and first day of the month.

Daily Fleet Position Statement

Vehicle type-wise details of vehicle held and operated, off-road, breakdowns, bus-crew ratio, bus-staff ratio, diesel consumed and mileage efficiency.

Daily Breakdowns Analysis

Number of breakdowns (with a breakup of avoidable/unavoidable), kilometers lost, project revenue lost are the main component of the reports. The information can be summarized on

a) Depot
b) Vehicle type
c) Service type
d) System and subsystem (If the transmission is system the subsystems of this system are gear box, axle, differential and clutch)
Daily Cancellation Statement

Cause of collection, number of kilometers cancelled, percentage of collection, opportunity loss, etc. These figures are shown for the previous day, same day last year and first day of the month. This information can be summarized on depot or on service type.

Route-wise Performance Statement

For each route, service type-wise figures showing number of services, number of passengers, earnings, earnings per kilometers, earnings per bus, occupancy ratio, number services with low density, number of services with low utilization. A drill down is provided to see the details of services that are relevant to the corresponding summary.

Accident Analysis

This report is provided at the head office level. In addition it provides a very comprehensive analysis of accidents that occurred between two specified dates. Several pie/bar charts project the analysis graphically. Number of accidents, number of fatal accidents, number of minor accidents, number of deaths, damage amount, amount paid as compensation through several filters like depot, region, zone, time, weather, road type, driver age, driver experience, etc are analysed. Drill downs are provided to know more about specific accidents.

List of vehicles due for preventive maintenance Activity

For a specified activity out of thirteen choices (i.e example : engine oil change, engine oil filter change, felt filter change, paper filter change, engine top overhaul, etc.). The report lists the vehicles that are due for maintenance as on date. The list is sorted in the order of priority. This report is available at depot level.

Top Ten Low fuel efficiency Vehicles

This report can be generated at depot or at the regional office. This shows the list of top ranking ten vehicles on the basis of fuel consumption ratios. If needed , these drivers of such vehicles are sent for refresher training program.

List of routes with occupancy ratio more than a specified value

This report provides a list of all routes which have more demand. Using this report, the management plan for augmentation.

Spares expenditure

For a specified vehicle, the report shows a histogram depicting the monthly expenditure on spare part consumption over the year.

Deployment
The software is developed in Oracle and Developer 2000 environment under client server implementation.
There are three components in project MIS namely:
Regional Management Information System (RMIS): This component is successfully deployed in all the 23 regional offices of the state
