Objectives

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is set up as a regulatory body to protect the interests of insurance policyholders, to regulate, promote and ensure orderly growth of the Insurance Industry and for matters connected therewith.

The IRDA portal disseminates timely and accurate information in simple language with a user friendly interface covering all the required activities of the IRDA applicable to its end customers.

The portal is developed in both English and Hindi languages.
Features

The portal provides the following services:
Online Submission of all the relevant information by the Insurance Companies (Life & Non-Life) regarding the business or any new plans to IRDA on monthly basis for approval.
Publishing of reports by IRDA on consolidated returns of the registered insurers on the website and also in the IRDA journal, after approval.
Submission of information (file returns) by registered brokers on a yearly basis and subsequent publishing of reports by IRDA for the use of brokers.
Online submission of complaints and grievances, and complaint status verification through "unique complaint number" provided to the user subsequently.
Online registration of details regarding advertisements or new plans by registered insurance companies and further verification of the details to facilitate the IRDA during inspection.
Filing of returns online, by Agent Training Institutes to IRDA, on a yearly basis
Online submission of new products designed for insurers by registered Actuaries for the approval of the IRDA, before the launch of the product.
The portal provides updated information on regulations, statutes, and relevant circulars for the use of all the registered users.
Search facility which provides full support to English language, comprising of word search, exact and partial match.

Software used: Visual Studio .NET 2003, SQL SERVER 2000, XML, Crystal Reports for .NET, JavaScript.

Third Party Tools Used: FCK editor for CMS, SKM menu for dynamic menus
