Electronic Fund Transfer System (EFTS)

The Electronic Fund Transfer System (EFTS), operational in New England, is a transaction-based electronic billing system for interlibrary-loan (ILL) and document delivery.

EFTS has virtually eliminated the need to create invoices and write checks for re-imbursement for interlibrary loans and document delivery between participants. Among the advantages are monthly detailed transaction based reports, the ability to handle variable charges and the ability to handle non-DOCLINE transactions.

A web-based system is developed to facilitate the member library to get the information quickly and also be able to update the information online. Reports are available on web thus expediting the process to reconcile the accounts. Web based EFTS system has eliminated many manual interventions in the process. Productivity is thus increased both for member libraries as well as administrator.
